Sylvan Lake Refugee Project 09.01.2021

The Sylvan Lake Refugee Project Committee as a formal entity is now dissolved. On behalf of all of us who have shared in this labour of love over the past four years...we, the members of the Sylvan Lake Refugee Project, wish to extend a heartfelt thanks to the community and churches of Sylvan Lake who have helped our 4 new Canadian families. Please keep them in your prayers. May God continue to bless the beautiful community of Sylvan Lake and our new Canadian families as th...ey make their way in a new land. #slrp #sylvanlake #thankyou See more

A very nice shout out to Gerald and Jill who continue to be instrumental to the Elias family adapting to the Canadian way of life. All our sponsor families are very grateful to ALL who have helped them settle here. Day 10 of TIMELESS LOVE CONTEST MOST HEARTWARMING ENTRY My wife, two daughters, and I immigrated to Sylvan Lake from Syria in 2018. We THANK GOD every day that we met JILL and GERALD who are our second family in this new country. As part of the Sylvan Lake Refu...gee Project, they agreed to be our sponsors. They have helped us in numerous ways: connecting us with medical and dental care, making sure we have groceries, helping our children adapt to the Canadian way of life, driving us to appointments and English lessons, teaching us to drive, and helping us find work. Jill and Gerald complete each other perfectly. Their marriage is one of the best marriages I have seen. They are AMAZING people. They are people of good character. They always say God will be with you in all your ways. We see in these people THE FACE OF GOD, full of KINDNESS and LOVE. We love you very much and we THANK YOU for everything you have done for us.

Our new Canadians continue to pick up new skills. Mastering skating is a new and pleasant experience. They have a great teacher, seen on the left.
