Mr. Ward took 8.3 out for gym this morning. They organized and played a game they created, on their own- no instruction needed from the teacher. They even made sure to invite a student new to SLSS this year! It’s so important to highlight the positives these days #saintsspirit
These lucky students have something to look forward to on Friday. They are making sourdough bread starter to make their own sourdough bread!

Mrs. Hutchingame’s hospitality class is cooking up a storm. Thanksgiving leftovers are being put to good use, as this soup making crew starts homemade turkey soup!! This morning they roasted the bones, and after break they will be cutting up the vegetables. Friday is soup day!!!

Mr. Fontaine’s students were burning magnesium in their lab today, and using the experimental data to determine the percentage composition of magnesium oxide. Science labs spice up the day!!
Our community health partners, The Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit and the Eastern Ontario Health Unit have indicated this evening that parents should use the provincial screening tool that was updated today. Tomorrow is Orange Shirt Day. Orange Shirt Day (September 30th) is a day when we honour the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools in Canada and learn more about the history of those schools. Show your Saints spirit!
Mr. Peinsznski’s students are using the microscopes today to observe cells. This is a really cool lab!!
Mr. Fontaine’s computer class is trying something really amazing today. They are applying what they’re learning in coding to Minecraft! Students can program their character to plant flowers, build houses, walk on water and more!!
