You may have noticed our account has been a bit quiet lately & its due to many things. Weve wanted to take time to reflect and re-connect with whats important and thats led to taking a break from Instagram. We recently lost a truly remarkable soul, one that was very dear to our hearts. We feel truly lucky to have gotten the time we did with her in the Small Mercies space and our lives outside of the store. She was one of our very first supporters. Helping us through ope...ning by painting ceiling tiles, making sure to come before we opened on our first day and being our very, very first customer, and through recent COVID times working alongside us, cutting & arranging flowers. Always eager to help, laugh, and encourage. We felt lucky at the time to have been the recipients of her wonderful energy & time. Her spirit will always be felt here. A few weeks before Sid passed she gifted us these dried poppy pods from her garden. A typical, thoughtful gesture for her but one that will always be held safe in our hearts. These pods will be kept as a reminder. Reminding us of all the things Sid was and what we should all strive to be. Generous, caring, loving, resilient. To never forget the small things, sometimes they are the most important.

First, we want to say a big thank you to everyone for all the love and support over the last 48 days since we closed our doors. It still feels surreal, and has proved, once again, how great Winnipeg is. We also wanted to give you an update after the provinces announcement on Wednesday. We will remain closed as we feel its the best decision for our staff but also for our customers safety. We want to keep both sides of our shop counter as healthy as possible.
