'The Invisible Injury'.... Every one of us endures pain throughout our lives.... pain that nobody else can see. It resides inside of us...finding a place dee...p inside to nestle in... a place to get comfortable. A place where we may not necessarily notice it on a conscious level. It injures our perception of ourselves.... our sense of self-worth and self-love..... our feeling of belonging. Much of this pain, we often choose to face alone and it remains invisible to those around us. We work hard to hide it... from ourselves and others, as though denying it's existence will somehow make it go away. Learning that we don't have to deal with our struggles in this way takes practice... and a commitment to consciously loving ourselves enough to reach out for help when we need it. The Invisible Injury is a painting that represents many different things.... something unique for each of us.... TBI... emotional trauma.... anxiety.... the pain of loss... loneliness... If you are suffering... reach out. We weren't meant to walk this earth alone. If you know someone who is suffering... reach out... we are all in this together... and one person's kindness can change another person's world. Choose kindness... toward yourself... and towards others.... Be an example of kindness to those that you love and to those you may not even know.
