It’s only right to introduce everyone’s favourite team member first: Dr. Bhatta, or Hardy as he is affectionately known by friends and family, grew up in Ilford, Essex in England. Hardy attended the University of Glasgow and Glasgow Dental Hospital and School in Scotland, graduating with his BDS in 1995. After visiting family in Vancouver in 1988, he fell in love with Canada and became determined to one day work here. This goal was ultimately fulfilled after gaining his DMD... at UBC Dental School in 2001. Special interests in Implants, TMD (Neuromuscular Dentistry), Sleep Apnea, Complex Restorative, Cosmetics, and Invisalign have kept his Continuing Education program filled with advanced courses. His treatment goal and philosophy is to provide well educated decisions alongside his patients to improve not only their dental health but overall physical health, and so he strives to provide a warm, friendly, and inviting atmosphere to all he is honoured to serve. He cares not only about the smile, but more importantly the person behind the smile. He will always have a warm welcoming positive energy and attitude ready and waiting for you. Hardy is the proud father of 3 young children. His wife is an elementary school teacher who works in the Surrey school district. Hardy enjoys technology, reading non-fiction and computers. His spare time currently is focused on his young family. He enjoys travelling and learning about new cultures, historical artefacts, listening to music (especially British 80's!) and loves engaging with people. Once in a while he might even bust a move on the dance floor!

To all our patients at Smiling Creek Dental, As we navigate these uncertain times, it is most imperative that we look after each other as a community. It is important that everyone feels safe when they come to visit us, and we know that there have been some concerns around the COVID19 Pandemic, and the Pacific Dental Conference that ran from March 5th-7th of 2020. On March 16th, 2020 the Provincial Health Officer stated that all Pacific Dental Conference attendees are to self...-isolate until March 22nd 2020. We hope that this may clarify some of your most pressing concerns: Q: I received care in a dental office after the Pacific Dental Conference but before attendees were directed to self-isolate. Should I be worried? A: The Office of the Provincial Health Officer has advised that only the conference attendees require self-isolation. In addition, all dental offices are required to be in compliance with CDSBC’s infection prevention and control guidance. This includes the use of gloves, masks and eyewear to keep the practitioner and the patient safe. Q: Why hasn’t CDSBC shut down all Dental offices? A: CDSBC does not have the legal authority to require dental offices to close. Our role is to alert our registrants that they must be in compliance with direction from the Provincial Health Officer and other government and public health directives. We are strongly recommending that elective and non-essential dental care be suspended during this time. At Smiling Creek Dental, we believe in being proactive during this time, so we have taken the extra measure to close our office until April 20th, tentatively. Q: I have a Dental Emergency, but the office is closed. What should I do? A: While our team at Smiling Creek Dental are taking the proactive steps to help protect ourselves, as well as our community, we understand that there may be a pressing need to see a Dentist. If this is the case, please give us a call and leave us a detailed voicemail. We will follow up with you as soon as possible to direct you into the hands of proper care. More information can be found at: https://www.cdsbc.org/about-cds/news/covid-19/covid-19-faq As this challenge progresses, we will continue to update our Facebook as much as possible. We hope that you, and your families stay safe and healthy during this time, and we all look forward to seeing you again soon. Your team from Smiling Creek Dental
