The 2019-2020 12U season was filled with obstacles and adversity. The global pandemic caused a rocky road to say the least. However, the 12U team did a great jo...b stepping up and facing all challenges head on. When the Reds got word the season could continue, the whole team was so excited to get back on the field and play. They worked hard during the initial practices, but they were a little rusty from the lock down. As a result, the start of the season was a little bit slow, however, once the boys got a taste of competing the wheels started to turn. Each weekend to boys continued to prove to themselves what they were capable of and each weekend they raised the bar from the weekend before. These improvements were not only noticeable within the coaching staff but also from other teams within the organization and other organizations. The boys got many compliments about how far along they had come throughout the season and we became one of the teams that other teams feared. The boys quickly learned what it was like to compete and play baseball with intensity. Some of the highlights that stand out the most include the game where we were two outs away from a perfect game through a great pitching performance and solid defense. Additionally, throughout the season we found unconventional ways to get out of tough situations when we needed it most and many of the boys were unstoppable on the basepaths. The boys loved to learn the game and, in many situations, outsmarted their opponents. One of the highlights that stands out the most came during out final game, where we saw the most intensity ever out of the boys. Many of the players losing their voices by the end of the day and as a result. It was one of our best games as an all-round team. It was a solid game through and through and what made it more impressive is that we started off the game in a deficit and the boys rallied back and ended the season on a great note. At the end of the 26-game season the boys had made incredible strides as ball players and young men. We are very proud of the 12U group and are excited to see what 2021 brings with a large chunk of returning players and key new additions. #redsnation
