The Smithers Public Library is closing its doors to the public once again due to the COVID-19 pandemic but you can still take out a good book or movie for the holidays.

NOTICE: Due to rapidly rising cases of COVID-19 both locally and regionally, we have decided to suspend public access to the building starting on Tuesday, December 22nd. At that time, we will begin offering Library Takeout @ SPL (find details here): https://smithers.bc.libraries.coop/search-/library-takeout/ Drop by until 4pm today or Monday, Dec 21st between 12-5pm to stock up on LOTS of books, magazines and DVDS for the holidays! We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust our library services accordingly.

On Friday, December 18th starting at 6:30pm, enjoy a special storytime session live on Facebook featuring holiday-themed stories and songs. You are invited to contribute a favourite holiday memory for Sandra to share during this live storytime. Email your stories to Sandra at [email protected].

Thank you to the Bulkley Valley Credit Union for their generous donation toward the purchase of a biography series for children called "Little People, Big Dreams." Discover the early lives of outstanding designers, artists, athletes, politicians, scientists, and more. All of them went on to achieve incredible things, yet they began life as a little child with a dream.
