It is with great regret that we must announce that our always popular annual vintage fashion sale, Bizarre Bazaar, will not be taking place this year. We had initially thought that we could outsmart the Covid-19 virus by rescheduling the sale from May to September. Then we thought we could defeat the ban on large indoor public gatherings by hosting an outdoor sale. In the end, we’ve had to accept the wisdom of Dr Bonnie Henry’s words: Fewer faces, larger spaces. Although i...t may feel to many of us that the virus has largely been beaten in BC, it hasn’t been. It’s still there. We need to learn from the mistakes that have been made in other parts of the world and continue to be vigilant so that we’ll all remain safe. There is no truly safe way that we can host a public event in which distancing is maintained and all touch points are kept clean. Rather than place any of our vendors or attendees at risk, we have made the truly difficult decision to cancel Bizarre Bazaar this year and hope that conditions will have changed sufficiently for us to carry on with Bizarre Bazaar 2021 as planned, on Sunday, May 16, 2021. The 2020 SMOC Annual General Meeting is this Sunday, June 28 at 2:00PM at the Italian Cultural Centre! We look forward to seeing you there!

The All’Italiana: The Craft of Italian Fashion exhibition at Il Centro Italian Cultural Centre’s Museum has been extended until the end of June! The museum is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10am-6pm. Admission is free.
