We have been going through a cold spell for the las 10 days. It was a balmy-37 degrees centigrade this morning. The hives are wrapped in 4’s to share heat between hives. It’s been cool for a stretch and bees haven’t flown for awhile. They do an interesting behaviour where they orientate themselves to the entrance of the hive by hovering while staring at their home. I’m told it’s the young bees that do this, but I’m not sure that’s entirely true. #bees #beekeeping #beeslife @sweetpurehoney.ca
