Busy day ahead of winter weather. More wood to the furnace room....processed the last of our roosters. Rabbits moved to their new rabbitry. More to get done. We'll be warm anyway. Did you know it is only 37 more days until the days start to get longer?
Todays lesson.....
Last of the Meat birds processed today. 6 more added to the freezer camp and one on the grill for supper. At 12 weeks these birds were nice. One even made the 9 pound mark cleaned up. Very pleased. They will be excellent in the Turkey Fryer.

Some Quail Egg Bites for my lunch on the road tomorrow. This was an experiment of beaten quail eggs frozen in milk cartons. Left for 4 weeks then thawed, and made into bites. They actually were fluffier than fresh. The idea is to have more convenient pre made food available, plus excess eggs can now go into the freezer. These bites are made with quail egg and russian dressing (house made), chopped onion, peppers, pepperoni, tomato and cheese. Hmmmm...can't wait for lunch tomorrow...
