On the evening of October 24, when temperatures were dipping below -10, Cst. Kornicki from Capital East RCMP Traffic was working in the #FortSaskatchewan area. ...While on-duty he heard a dispatched 911 call out of #Chipman. The call came from two frantic parents advising that their 4-year-old son had walked away from their residence while they were sleeping. The child's well being was at risk as he was only wearing pyjamas on the cold evening. Cst. Kornicki immediately attended the area and began systematic patrols searching for the toddler. He worked backwards from a distance and slowly made his way towards the residence. He was able to locate the child and return home to the parents without injury. Cst. Kornicki later attended local hardware stores and suggested a childproof device for the parents that would stop the child from walking away in the future.
