As a psychotherapist, I am thrilled to hear about the huge progress of a 6 years-old client from China. I started providing virtual therapy to this girl 2 weeks ago. Prior to the therapy, she has not spoken to anyone outside her immediate family. Because of the anxiety, she has been silent in school. After 4 virtual sessions with me, and with parents practising the skills outside the therapy session, she has now spoken to her close friend in school (whom she has only been pla...ying non-verbally prior), her neighbour and her 2 cousins! All this progress happened in the past 10 days. During my sessions with her, I identified the games that prompt her to speak readily and excitedly and the father diligently used the games to help her speak to her cousins and then her friends in between sessions the past week. The parents are elated! We now look forward to continue the appropriate strategies to help her progress further in school!
