Meet Rachel! Rachel is an ACE-certified personal trainer with 10+ years of sports and exercise experience. She has completed her Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology at UBC majoring in Food & Environment, where she facilitated food literacy workshops and advised in Edible Education for VSB. Growing up, Rachel has competed in cross-country running, track & field, and speed & synchronized swimming; in her recent years, she has ran (quite literally) into the world of endurance... training competing in ultra marathons and triathlons, in addition to strength and conditioning at her local Crossfit box. Rachel specializes in functional training, and believes that movement is not just a check off your to-do list it’s a lifestyle! Correction! Trainer Tuesday Tips! Here are 3 ways how you can improve on your bench press: 1. Have your feet flat on the ground. It will provide you more stability while performing the exercise. ... Less stability will cause your body to compensate. 2. Your glutes should be in contact with the bench. If you are over arching and your glutes are off the bench, chances are the weight is too heavy and you should drop it down. Again, your body will start to compensate and imbalances in your body will start to happen. 3. Make sure your head is on the bench and not straining your neck. Ask one of our fitness professionals for more tips!

Meet Moroti! Moroti joined Snap Fitness in March 2018 because he wanted to lose weight and enjoyed being active as a way to fill his time. Moroti played Rugby in school but was never really into the sport, however noticed he missed the feeling of being active. Since joining, Moroti has had a transformational weight loss success, which allows him to feel more confident and stronger in his everyday activities! Moroti feels more comfortable at Snap Fitness than anywhere else, as... he can be himself, in a positive head space, surrounded by friendly, supportive people where everyone is relaxed. Consistency is a huge factor in Moroti's success and he enjoys how organized he feels with the structured booking system. Now fitness is a part of Moroti's identity and has goals to further his weight loss and achieve better form and muscle gain. Ever day Moroti challenges himself to something he wasn't able to do the day before, which continues to surprise him. We are so proud of your dedication and hard work Moroti!
