It is possible to get results while training at home Snaps Director of Personal Training, Maja has some ways to increase the difficulty of Home Training with limited equipment As most of us are currently limited to training with body weight or little equipment, here are some ways to manipulate your plan to make exercises harder allowing you to keep progressing! 1. Take shorter rest Periods... 2. Increase Time Under Tension. Perform longer eccentrics (the lengthening portion of the exercise)and pauses with tempo(pause at the bottom or halfway of the movement) 3. Superset, Triset and Giantset. Combine two or more exercises together with very minimal or no rest in between. 4. Increase ROM (Range Of Motion). For example, putting the hands on 2inch books in a pushup to get your chest lower at the bottom of the movement. 5. Unilateral exercises. 6. Perform exercises for time instead of a set amount of reps. Try getting in as many reps as possible (AMRAP) *with good technique. Using one or a combination of these methods are a sure way of getting more out of ypur current routine! So much more strength work can be done with adding bands as well! Another great meal idea from Nutrition Coach Jeanette for the fam Ok, who doesn't love this iconic burger in salad form. Super quick for a weekday meal, even in the colder months this is a go to. Serves 4 1 lbs extra lean ground beef (turkey is fine too if you want to go even leaner in the meat choice)... 3 romaine hearts chopped 4 roma tomatoes diced 8 dill pickles sliced 1/2 red onion finely diced thousand island dressing 4 oz low fat cheddar cheese Cook ground beef and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Divide ingredients among 4 plates. *I used 2 tbsp thousand island dressing **all are approximate cals 437 P 43g C 13g F 24g * Not sure what those numbers mean?? This is a common misconception when it comes to nutrition, but if you have specific body composition goals, it’s important to understand Nut butters, yes are insanely delicious, are a great source of healthy fats. Because of their nutrient makeup, they’re higher fat then protein, which means they have more calories per gram than something that is a complete protein source. Which is why higher fat foods are recommit smaller portion sizes. We coach our clients the importance of balanced nutrition, because all macronutrients are important to optimal health and performance but it’s important to understand portion sizes and what foods are considered a source of fat/protein/carb so that you aren’t hindering your results! Coach Jeanette recommended Sheet Pan Dinner: 1 pkg hot or mild Italian sausages 1 pkg baby potatoes... 2 red peppers 1 onion 2 zuchinni 1 pkg mushrooms Olive Oil, salt and pepper, Italian Seasoning Cut everything into large chunks, spread onto 2 baking sheets and bake at 400 for 40 minutes!
