The final session for Play and Pause learning with EdTech Team Canada for our Grade teachers and students is today Tuesday, November 17. For the last 7 weeks, each week students and teachers participated in the EdTech Play and Pause workshops that are designed to support students familiarizing themselves with their Chromebook and the functionality of the Google Apps for Education platform. The final session is a culminating activity where students will revisit all the skills they have learned playing a Jeopardy-style game. The co-host, Darren was just on Jeopardy at the beginning of November! Our #SNCDSB students will have the opportunity to meet him and he is going to share his experience with us.

The latest version of the provincial COVID-19 school and child care screening tool was just released yesterday. The online electronic version is updated on the Ministry site: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/ The symptom list has changed significantly, so please review the new version carefully. News Releases:... ENG: http://news.ontario.ca//ontario-revises-covid-19-screening FRE: http://news.ontario.ca//lontario-revoit-les-orientations-e Quick recap of changes (from the news release). The first set of questions asks about symptoms such as fever or cough. Students and children with any of these symptoms will still be advised to stay home until they are able to consult with a health care provider and receive an alternative diagnosis or a negative COVID-19 test. The second set of questions asks about other symptoms that are commonly associated with other illnesses, such as a runny nose or headache: - Students and children with only one of these symptoms will be advised to stay home for 24 hours, after which they can return to school or child care if their symptoms are improving. - Students and children with two or more of these symptoms will be advised to stay home until they are able to consult with a health care provider and receive an alternative diagnosis or a negative COVID-19 test. In addition, based on the latest public health guidance the symptom list for children in school and child care no longer includes abdominal pain or conjunctivitis (pink eye).
