Happy Father’s Day! This is my dad...he’s also a grandpa and a great-grandpa. And he is the most amazing father! His love for his children and grandchildren and great grand child is endless. We are so blessed. While I’m working at Sneak a Peek, I love seeing the reactions of dads and dads to be when I introduce them to their new love. Thumb sucking happy! Sometimes it’s thumbs, sometimes it’s toes and sometimes even the umbilical cord. Did you know that babies are coordinated enough to start sucking their thumb after 12 weeks? And sucking is part of their normal development and helps bring the lower jaw into position. It doesn’t necessarily mean they will continue to suck their thumb once they are born though. Thrilled to share a picture of this little one. I was in the room when this adorable bundle entered the world yesterday, and I am in awe! In awe of the miracle of birth, in awe of the love that floods through you when you meet this tiny person with little fingers and toes...and I am so amazed and inspired witnessing a woman enduring the worst, pushing through and finding strength when there was none left. And a man watching, silently crying, feeling totally helpless as he tr...ies to comfort and ease a pain he knows he cant. I had the privilege of introducing them to their baby early in the pregnancy, told them the gender and experienced special moments of family bonding through their ultrasound viewings. Being there through the sweat, tears and the first cries was truly amazing.
