I have a short exercise for you. Open up your journal or the notes in your phone and write these two words down: CREATE and CURATE. Then, go ahead and add this affirmation to your notes.... Say it out loud if you have to: I am a creator AND a curator. We ALL are creators and curators and we all have the ability within us to make it happen. For you to enlarge your territory, professional and personal, you’ve got to expand your capacity. For example, let's say that you end up working with a mindset coach, which adds one teacher to this roster of guidance you are building in your life. And after working on that bucket in your roster, you may feel like you can’t expand your capacity and bring on other forms of guidance (i.e. business mentor, marketing strategist, etc.) That one first investment has, in essence, filled your capacity in your mind. BUT If you only have the capacity for one thing, (and there’s NOTHING wrong with that,) that will reveal to you WHY you have the results at the level you are currently at. So what do the two words: create and curate mean when we apply those to our very own life and business? When we CREATE, that means we make something exist that did not previously exist for us. When we CURATE, that means we create an environment for our creations to live. You can't create without curate and vice-versa. If we bring something into our world and our space but we have no idea how to make sure there’s aliveness to it, well then, guess what, we gave birth to something that we can no longer help sustain. This line of thinking is - a process - it begins with awareness - it's a work in progress When a client works with me on their social media strategy and mentoring, more often than not, they want to dive in straight to the HOW. But when there's work to do on the WHY, it doesn't matter how good is the HOW. Friend, YOU have the power to CREATE your life and business opportunities and CURATE the environment to make those opportunities thrive. Are you currently creating and curating?
