Amongst a busy online term in a year full of health, political and environmental stressors, it's easy to get swept up in the chaos and feel like we're struggling just to get by. Sometimes it's necessary to take a moment and reflect on how far we've come despite these challenges, who have helped us get here, and what loss might means to each of us. For some loss is unexpected, terrifying and bleak. For others it might spark gratitude, humility, progression or peace. Every pe...rson on this planet will experience some form of loss in their life, connecting us all across time, land and culture. Remembrance Day was first observed in 1919 as a recognition of the end of WWI in 1918 - 11th hour, 11th day, 11th month. It lets us reflect on the service of over 2 million Canadians and the sacrifice of close to 120,000 of our friends and family in times of war and conflict. While still very important to give thanks and acknowledgement in this way, this year it might feel or look a bit different with the world in a global pandemic. Let's stop and take a few moments today to think of those who are no longer with us, whomever and however that may apply to you.

Don't think a course is working out well? It's always better to drop it and try again later, especially if it will take a negative toll on your health and/or averages. The last day to drop a fall course and receive WD (withdrawn/no credit) is November 23. While it stays on your record, it doesn't impact averages and has no grade equivalent. NOTE: Certain things like OSAP, FT/PT status for study permits, scholarship/bursary requirements, etc. can be impacted. Connect with your advisor to know where to go next for answers!
