I've noticed a lot of posts lately on various accounts that are using watermarked images. Please, please, please, stop using them to create your content unless you are going to pay to have the watermarks removed. Not only does it look bad, it can also create problems for your business. Those images are are owned by the producer of the content and a lot of them make a living by selling their photos. If you are using Canva to develop your content, watch for the little $ sign ...that accompanies the image. If it has one, then you need to pay to use that image or illustration. Without paying for an image, you are stealing from the photographer, graphic designer, etc. So please keep that in mind the next time you are creating an advertising piece, social media post, poster, etc. Pexels.com is a great website for free images to use at your leisure. Or, pay the small fee. After all, your business is worth it. If you have any other great websites for free images, post them in the comments below! (I've attached a sample of what a watermarked image might look like. Typically it is the logo faded in the background)

Have you ever tried to tag someone in the comments of a post or giveaway and it didn't work? If you have tried to tag an individual and their name doesn't highlight like this: Durai Schell, then it didn't work properly. Try putting an "@" symbol in front of their name, which will bring up a selection box. Click on the person you are trying to tag and it will highlight their name. Then, once you post your comment it will send a notification to them. Without their name being ...highlighted, you're not actually sending them a notification and they won't know you tried to tag them. Tagging a business can also be tricky. Not all companies have their business name as their username which can make it difficult. In order to find a username, go to the business page and look underneath the profile picture. You should see a username listed (I've attached a screenshot of mine in the photos below), which is what you'll use to tag them in a post like this: Social Haak. Now my business page will be tagged and I'll get a notification to my business page that I was tagged in a post. If you want to try it out, feel free to do so in the comments below. If you need help, message me, I'm happy to assist!

You know the saying "Do as I say and not as I do?" I feel like it is the perfect one for my business page as of late. I've taken some time off from my own business page to focus in on my clients. I have one of the best problems a business can have which is a max client list so I've really been trying to focus on them rather then on my own page. With that being said, I'm hoping that in the New year I'll be able to start taking on more clients and expand my business. So stay t...uned for that! For today, I'll leave you with this one: Bad reviews/comments are sometimes a tough pill to swallow but it is important that you address them and show that you are taking steps to correct the problem. Try to make a public reply and in that, provide an e-mail address or phone number to move the conversation out of the publics eye. The last thing you want to do is start a Social Media war that everyone can see. You can even send them a private message, but make sure you comment on the post letting them know that you have sent them a private message so anyone looking can see you've responded and not just ignored it. Unless the comment has derogatory comments, I believe it is important to leave the messages up, deal with them and move-on. Deleting the comments could look like you are trying to hide something and that's not a great look. Hope you're all off to a great week!

As long as the content that they share is relevant to your business, is engaging, and aligns with your brand then it is a great idea to share it. Clients love to see your brand in action! Just make sure to pay special attention to how your brand is portrayed in the video or picture before posting, if all looks good then post away. Don't forget to tag them in your post and give credit where credit is due. Have a great evening everyone!

I'm super excited to welcome 9Round to my client list! If you haven't tried them out yet, you should! My husband and I, along with my cousin and a few other friends have memberships and they are great. Supportive trainers and I don't ever feel intimidated being there! To be honest, I was VERY scared to walk in there the first time. My husband and cousin had been going for a while and I was nervous that I would look like a fool. After getting all set up with wraps and gloves w...e started and within the first few minutes I wasn't intimidated anymore. There are people at all different fitness levels, those who have practiced kickboxing before and those, like me, who had never hit anything before. I wasn't perfect, I couldn't hit the speed bag in a continuous rhythm but I stuck with it and now, I can ALMOST hit it as fast as my husband. The point is, try something new. It might be tough and uncomfortable at first but it gets better with practice and the folks at 9round are there to support you, not intimidate you. See more
