Hey friends! One of the most frequent questions I get asked during photo shoots is: "So.... what should I actually post about on social media?" It goes like this: you've done a photo shoot or two, and you're sitting there at your laptop looking at hundreds of amazing pics and videos that you can't wait to share. You follow a few social media podcasts or bloggers and have a million ideas about the kinds of content you want to create. But if you're honest with yourself, you hav...e no actionable strategy for where to really begin. Sure, you could hire a social media manager, but for many of the businesses I've worked with, you're the sole founder and all your business knowledge is locked in your head. Or maybe you're just not ready or cashed-up enough to hand over one of the most critical communication and sales platforms of your business just yet. It's a monster of a question, but I wanted to give you a few concrete places to begin. - HOW TO content: add value by helping your audience solve a problem they face every day with a simple how-to post. Think recipes, step-by-step guides, or video tutorials! - STORY content: the human brain loves a narrative structure (that's why Netflix is so addictive)! Delight your audience by telling them a story with a start, middle, and end. - REAL CLIENT testimonials: nothing speaks louder than real results, so get brave and email your best clients asking for a few sentences on how your product or services has benefitted them. Most people will be honoured to be asked to share their opinion! Social media strategy should be a big part of your marketing/operational spend, and it is worth the investment. So get honest with yourself, and if you're still swimming in your ideas and not taking action, bring on a coach.
