Social Order 23.01.2021

Scenario #3 - you are the delivery company. You are in fact overwhelmed. What to do? Your message - " __________". No time to send out any messages. My message to you - get out there and visit every business that might or should use your services. Offer a discounted rate to companies that want to offer free delivery to their customers. Work your rear off for a few weeks, press another car into service, hire another driver - go, man go. Do not waste this opportunity to show... businesses that your service is the best and you will help them succeed. This epidemic will end and the need for your business will wane - but you might retain some of it, and you might be the delivery service of choice based on how you handled the crisis. Pictures of your staff all gloved and masked, and cleaning your car. And ensure the car sparkles, it inspires confidence. Call Rick to discuss your messaging strategies.

Social media ideas - Scenario 2 You run a financial services business and have had to shut the front door, but you still need to operate. Nothing has changed in terms of the needs of your clients, only how you deliver those services. Your message - "we are overwhelmed with customers trying to buy things from us. We will do our best to try to get back to you and get you what you need."... My message - "Our staff are standing by to deliver our service to you. Call us and give us a brief description of what you need, and we guarantee to get back to you within 24 hours. We have modified our processes to allow all transactions to be completed on line, by text, or on the telephone. If you can't get to us, and we need a document or signature, we will send a runner to you." Don't worry, we've got this!" Communicate the message on all social media and website, hire a delivery service to be your runner, make a commitment to return all calls even if you have to work late to get control of your processes. Someone in your organization should be in charge of the process, ensuring that all customers are served. These are unprecedented times, act like it! You will be rewarded with loyal clients when this is all over. Call Rick to help with your messaging and assistance with organizing your process.

Your social media accounts are not telling a great story. I know what your thinking, how could Rick know anything about my business? I know because I have seen very little that would inspire me to spend some money in any local business. I’m here to help with some free advice! Have you noticed a whole new batch of ads on your Facebook feed from companies that are trying to capitalize on you being trapped at home? These are companies that quickly recognized a new wave of purc...hasers that couldn’t go to the local store. Look at the fear being put out there in the news. Wash your grocery packages! Don’t touch anything. The virus stays on surfaces for x days. All these warnings are opportunities. Let’s look at messaging around that. Scenario 1. You run a restaurant. Business pretty much stopped. Your message- during this difficult time we are closed but you can pick up or get it delivered. My message - we take your health seriously and have instituted the most stringent procedures to ensure your safety. Of course you can’t eat in, but you can pick up. Call us a half hour ahead at xxx-xxxx, pull into our parking lot and we will run your order to your car. Pay by card over the phone. Include pics of your kitchen looking like an operating room and a line of cars getting food handed through the window. Repeat 3 times a day on all social media at times when people are hungry. Offer free delivery, even if you have to pay a delivery service. Offer family style meals rather than your usual menu. People want this and will rationalize that this is safer than going to get groceries. Opportunity knocks. I’ll post more scenarios. If you need help with your messaging, call Rick today.

Spending weeks at home brings out all kinds of ideas. My brain is going where I can't, thinking about what is going to happen when all this craziness is over. I don't think that when distancing is no longer necessary, that we are all simply going to go back to life as we once knew it. Just like when 2 planes flew into 2 buildings in New York, we have never traveled the same, so will we never interact the same after this virus. I want to look at trends, and what it is going t...Continue reading
