Join us on Tuesday, Nov. 24 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. for a Live Q&A on our new housing research with York University. "Spaces and Places of Exclusion: Mapping Rental Housing Disparities for Toronto’s Racialized and Immigrant Communities" reveals how racialized individuals, specific racialized groups, newcomers, and refugees are hardest hit by Toronto's rental housing crisis. The research team, Amanuel Melle (Executive Director of the Network for the Advancement of Black Communit...ies), and Omar Khan (an organizer and advocate working with newcomer and refugee communities) will discuss the research and implications for policy. This Q&A is part of Future Cities Canada’s #UnexpectedSolutions conference. It's free, but registration is required. FYI, the session will be recorded and available on the conference website. Even if you take away immigration status as a factor, there is still a racialized gap. You cannot blame it on the fact they are born outside of Canada, to explain away the racial inequality that exists in Canada. Read the report: socialplanningtoronto.org/exclusion #topoli
