Last Stream of the year. This one from the studio. One of the challenges this past year in creating musical content is something that is rarely discussed. That is preparedness. Musicians thrive and improve through the practise of performance with others. While one can certainly try to stay in shape it is difficult to be at your peak when the prospects of performing are few and far between. The challenge becomes even greater when recorded performances become the medium of cho...ice. Suffice it to say the level of performance stress for musicians (and audio engineers) increases. In our work with musicians these past months it has been a delicate balance of trying to achieve artistic excellence while staying realistic. As with everything it is a compromise of time, resources, budget, physical limitations and the age old dilemma of being in shape when called on. Needless to say none of these concerts have been perfect. But that was never the point. There have been some good moments, and even sublime ones, mixed with the usual ensemble and intonation issues. The imperfection is what makes the artists desire to create, perfect. We hope you enjoy the imperfect but delightful performance of the Mozart tonight!

Another socially distanced iPhone recording with the Amadeus Choir. When I get some time I will put together a video explaining the process and mix techniques in making all theses voices come together. With the covid numbers as they are, it seems we're heading back to this place and time again.
