My wife and I took a 3 week trip to Europe in July 1989 with only a few hotels booked ahead of time. We landed in Amsterdam and drove south through Germany & Austria and took the Oberall Pass through the Alps into Switzerland. After a couple of days in Zermatt we drove into France and met up with some friends and spent 5 days touring through the Vosges mountains and the Black Forest. Upon dropping our friends back off we headed to Paris for 4 days (one of the few pre-booked... hotels we had) and walked around the city. After Gay Paree we headed south the the Cote d'azure and spent another 4 days in Cannes - visiting Monaco and the touring the coast. At the end of our trip we drove straight up through France and into Holland and spent our last night in Amsterdam after touring the city on foot during the day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VckBfu6ttyY
