We recently completed a solar installation of more than 200 modules on the roof of a storage building at a residential farm near Princeton, Ontario. This 70 kWp project integrates net metering with a back-up generator and will meet all of the customers' electricity needs, including charging their 3 electric vehicles. Why did this farm owner decide to install a solar system? He said he was tired of high electricity and heating oil bills and wanted an electric alternative for h...is farm. Why did he decide to work with SolarCrew? Because we're local and have extensive experience with solar installations. If you're tired of high electricity bills and want to discuss how to generate your own power with solar as an option, give us a call at 519-913-2346 or send an email to [email protected].

Our parent company, Arntjen Germany, was founded in 1978 by Gerd Arntjen to supply farm technology for livestock comfort in areas of feeding, watering, cooling, and lighting. Arntjen branched into solar technology in 2002. Arntjen Solar North America was founded in 2008 as part of the Arntjen Group of companies. Since 2008, we have supplied more than 5000 solar systems throughout Ontario and completed multiple large solar installations. With an expansion into Clean Energy, El...ectromobility and Conservation, the company has become known as Arntjen Clean Energy Solutions (ACES). We deliver high quality energy solutions to help our customers find new and better ways to minimize their dependency on fossil fuels. Recently, our German colleague, Dirk Harms, celebrated 35 years of service with Arntjen. In the photo below, Dirk is presented with a certificate by company founder, Gerd Arntjen. Congratulations, Dirk, on your incredible milestone. Thank you for your hard work throughout the years. -- From your colleagues in Canada

"The shift to electric vehicles and other low-carbon technologies could disrupt crude oil demand on a similar scale to the coronavirus pandemic." - Mark Little, CEO of Suncor Energy Inc. This is a powerful statement by someone in an industry that typically downplays the impact of clean energy and spreads misinformation to encourage mistrust of green technology. The global economic shutdown to slow the spread of COVID-19 resulted in the demand for fossil fuels dropping by roug...hly 30%. As the economy slowly begins to reopen, we have a unique opportunity to shift our focus from fossil fuels to clean energy as a way to bolster an energy revolution. We encourage you to contact your provincial government to encourage them to use clean energy to fuel a post-pandemic economic recovery. We can also cause a disruption by adopting clean energy into our lives, like buying an electric vehicle or installed a solar PV system. Please contact us if we can help with the disruption! https://reut.rs/3kMRtyU

The future looks bright for solar energy! Literally! In this video, Mike Ferrell looks at some of the breakthroughs that scientists have made in increasing the efficiency of solar panels. While these innovations are currently only in the lab and are not ready for mass-production, they bode well for the future of the industry when they are brought to the market. If you’re thinking about installing a solar system and are wondering what technology is currently available in Cana...da, give us a shout at 519-913-2346 or [email protected]. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uIOeHCOr-0&feature=youtu.be

The coronavirus seems to be speeding up the death of coal. As businesses shut down to slow the spread of the virus, the demand for electricity fell sharply. Because coal plants often cost more to operate than gas plants or #renewables, many utilities companies cut back on coal power first in response. As a result, the US is on track to produce more electricity this year from renewable power than from coal for the first time in history! Because coal is the dirtiest of the foss...il fuels, its decline has helped drive down the US carbon dioxide emissions 15% since 2005. As the cost of renewables - like wind and solar - continues to decrease, the coal industry will surely be pushed to the brink. As an aside - Ontario closed its last coal plant in 2014, becoming the first region in North America to eliminate its use. In 2018, Canada announced regulations to phase out traditional coal-fired electricity countrywide by 2030. #greenenergy #cleanenergy #renewableenergy https://lnkd.in/ghgS2ZD

We are so fortunate to live in Canada where we have an abundance of clean water and scenic landscapes. Preserving the environment is why we work every day to help people make the switch to green energy such as electric vehicles and solar panels. But even we need to take a break to spend with our loved ones. Our office will be open on Wednesday July 1st, but will be closed on Friday July 3rd so that we can celebrate Canada Day with a long weekend. Happy Canada Day! Remember to follow COVID-19 rules to stay safe.

Despite the current gloomy climate, is there a silver lining in the COVID-19 shutdowns? The global population is taking a forced paused from daily life and the disruption of the status quo is showcasing potential benefits of a zero-emission society, including a significant reduction in air pollution levels. In China alone, it is estimated that over 52,000 lives may be saved this year due to a fall in air pollution from COVID-19 lockdowns. As advocates for alternative clean en...ergy, including electric vehicles and solar panels, we encourage you to contact your provincial government to encourage them to focus on climate protection while planning for post-pandemic economic recovery. https://electricautonomy.ca//covid-19-could-spark-new-opp/
