@whatthefinancial Can you use a Home Buyer’s Plan more than once? YES! *There are some things you should know to see if you are eligible. ... Firstly, if you have participated in the Home Buyers Plan before the balance of the amount outstanding must be zero on Jan 1st of the year you want to make the withdrawal. Secondly, recall you must meet the following requirements to be considered for the HBP: 1) Be a Canadian resident 2) Have a written agreement to buy/build a home. 3) Must live in the home for minimum 1 year. 4) Someone who has not lived in a home owned by themselves/spouse or partner in the previous 4 years. Ex: You can be considered a new Home Buyer if you sold your home in 2016, you may be eligible in 2021. *REMEMBER, there is a 4 year period one must wait in order to requalify. Did you know? If you are going through a marriage break down and have lived seperate and apart from your spouse for 90 days or more you will not be prevented from taking advantage of the HBP plan sooner. Just note you must sell your current home within 2 years end of year when the HBP withdrawal is made. OR Sale of principle home may be waived if you buy out your spouses share of the home. 2020 was no doubt a SUPER challenge year but we do have a lot to be thankful for over here. We chose to focus on the positives and reflect on those brighter moments as we celebrate the last 365 days. In 2020... We found out we were pregnant. . We were blessed with a beautiful and healthy baby girl who has brought us so much joy!... . Our son has kept positive and adapted well throughout the craziness - he couldn’t of made us more proud. . We celebrated our first year of marriage and are madly in love. . We were lucky enough to keep our jobs throughout the entire pandemic. . Working from home, although super challenging being unwell+pregnant and homeschooling, brought our family even closer and made us cherish our time together even more. . Our parents and loved ones are all safe, healthy and most are close by so social distanced visits have been possible. . We were fortunate to be able to give back to several organizations in our community that are close to our hearts. . We made a couple of great investments for our future and in ourselves. As we flip another page in our stories we want to wish everyone a Happy New Year- May 2021 be filled with happiness, health, prosperity and endless possibilities for all of you
