THE KEY TO JUGGLING LIFE IS DOING IT WITH GRACE.... Anyone else feel like they haven’t been very graceful this past year? That we are choosing to put an extreme amount of pressure on ourselves by being influenced by what we see others doing with their lives? Trying to live your life using someone else's rules is painfully awkward!... This year I decided to take a closer look at what motivates me, what my challenges are and what I truly expect of myself. I did something drastically different... Normally at the beginning of every year I grab a new planner, and start to plan what the next year will look like including my yearly, monthly and weekly goals and specific milestones I would expect myself to meet. Well... as we all know, none of us could have factored in a global pandemic into this year. Yes I wrote my goals down, that didn’t change. What changed was my energy towards these goals, I didn’t obsess over the numbers, the dates or the activities that I felt needed to be accomplished. I focused on the quality of the relationships, the deeper more connected conversations, my clients goals and my own self care. I also refused to continue to reinforce toxic positivity which I have pushed against for the last 10 years. It’s ok to feel frustrated, overwhelmed, uncertain and vulnerable. We need to acknowledge these feelings, not shove them down and pretend they don’t exist. I felt more free, more connected to my clients and family and even more motivated! Imagine that!
