Sole footcare has hit a milestone! Officially hit our 60 client mark!

Monthly info posts will be posted once per month starting this month. This will spotlight an area of interest in regards to feet, either a disease, condition or ailment. Open to suggestions for anyone interested in certain topics. This months topic... Foot Fungus! So many people have foot fungus and aren’t even aware they have it. Are your toe nails? Discoloured? Crumbly? Misshapen? Thickened? Have a foul odour? You could have foot fungus! It’s important to see your foot ...nurse or doctor to have it diagnosed and be treated for foot fungus. It is contagious, and it will spread, it won’t get better on its own. If not treated it can do permanent damage to your nail bed. Ways to avoid foot fungus. wear breathable socks such as cotton to wick moisture away from foot. keep feet clean and dry especially in between your toes. (Fungus loves to grow in dark moist areas! Perfect for in between your toes!) avoid sharing footwear with friends and family. Your not aware if they have foot fungus or other transferable ailments such as warts on there feet. wear water shoes or sandals in public pool areas to avoid contact. wear breathable foot wear, that allows air circulation. avoid nail salons that don’t properly sterilize their tools. avoid nail polishes and artificial nails (harbours bacteria on the nail bed) As with anything with foot fungus it’s important to recognize the symptoms and get treated as soon as you suspect you may have it. Treatments can include oral medications, topical creams/ointments, in some cases surgery is needed if the infection has become internal. Have any suggestions on a topic you would like to see covered?
