Who knows the web and digital communications better than the youth that use and innovate it? We want to give a shoutout to our cohort @mavinsdesign and recognize the work they did on Solid State’s branding! For more information, check out their brand new website by clicking the link in our bio!

Food has always been a big part of Solid State’s core. At every cohort meeting, we share a healthy meal together. Recently, we have taken that love of food to the next level and we are super excited to launch our newest cohort that will start a food business! With that, we also want to extend a huge thank you to our amazing partners Canadian Red Cross for helping fund this project. Stay tuned - more details coming your way soon!
Happy World Humanitarian Day from the team at Solid State. 2020 has been a tough year for this world - do your best to give back and build a better, stronger tomorrow.
youth /yooTH/ noun the period between childhood and adult age. At Solid State, we aim to build youth-centric cooperatives. The youth of today are unlike any other generation. They are more diverse, connected, socially engaged and educated. We look forward to a stronger tomorrow built by today’s youth. #happyinternationalyouthday #cohortlifestyle
At Solid State, we embrace the cohort lifestyle and build cooperatives. Some of you may be wondering, what exactly are cohorts? We’ve got you covered! Simply put, Solid State cohorts may be instigated by an individual youth or a group of youths, a mentor, or a local organization. Each group is made up of six to ten youth with several mentors, all of whom are equal members. Participants build skills, conduct community and market research and go through successive iterations of an enterprise idea.
Solid State wishes everyone a happy, and safe, Canada Day 2020! We are proud to be Canadian! Did you know: Canada ranked as the #1 country in the world for Quality of Life in 2020?! Happy birthday to our nation - true north strong and free!

Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating! Eid ul-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. We hope everyone enjoys a safe and joyous Eid!
Solid State is proud to partner with the Breakfast Club of Canada / Club des petits déjeuners during the pandemic to help feed families. In normal times Solid State serves hot meals every day of the week; however, given the times we are currently navigating, we have not been able to keep the tradition alive. Thanks to the partnership with the Breakfast Club of Canada, we have been able to offer grocery gift cards to kids and families. This program is 100% confidential and so ...far, we have been able to support dozens of families and are looking forward to continuing to build on this initiative! Solid State’s food program plays a key role in our approach to addressing community solidarity and mutual aid. We cannot wait to come back to our space, post-pandemic, and pick up where we left off - this time in our swanky new kitchen! Again, a big thank you to the Breakfast Club of Canada for helping us support the Solid State community through these times! #localheroes #breakfastclubcanada See more

For more information, check out the schedule below! OCE has been coming through with such relevant and timely virtual events and we are super excited that they have pivoted their approach to planning events through these times and are keeping the community engaged. Thank you, OCE!

Happy Earth Day 2020 to everyone. This year, we are all celebrating this day in our new normal. However, amidst the chaos, our planet is healing! We are seeing a reduction in pollution, clearer waters, and an overall increase in climate change awareness. Let’s get our planet in shape, together!
