#throwbackthursday Here at Soluna Productions, we take justice, peace, and equality very seriously. That is why on June 19, 2020, we volunteered our service with the BLM movement for the "Freedom from Hate March." We provided inspiring and motivating live visual mixes for their large LED screen. It was a humbling experience listening to all the keynote speakers and their powerful messages. Helping big or small, we take pride in empowering unprivileged people and groups who s...uffer from systematic racism. It is our duty to amplify their message so we as a society can finally put an end to this hate-virus and inject the world with love. June 19 - Background history. Almost two years after the Emancipation Proclamation in 1862. When the civil war ended, in April 1865, most slaves in Texas were still unaware of their freedom. Months later, on June 19, General Gordon Granger from the Union Army, proclaimed freedom from slavery in Texas. Now known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Liberation Day, and Emancipation Day is a holiday celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States. #blm #vancouver #britishcolumbia
