Some really good advice here, well worth the read. If you can scrounge up any extra money before March 1st, I would highly recommend putting it into an RRSP. It will either increase your return or decrease your amount owing AND you've saved that money for retirement. It's a win-win. I understand it's hard to do - I'm in the same position trying to find some extra money to put in before the deadline, but it's definitely worth it!

Not a lot of tax changes for 2018 that will impact personal returns. The one major one is the changes to the CCA rates which could affect some sole proprietors. But whether you should actually increase your CCA deduction is something you should discuss with your tax professional as a number of factors should be taken into consideration.
