This program prepares its participants for potential employment with the City of Ottawa. This unique 2 week training, includes the opportunity for young people to get their foot in the door with the City. Some of the training includes First Aid and CPR, Customer Service and even Job Preparedness, where staff help you apply for city jobs. These among other valuable training are offered all FREE of CHARGE. Please see flyer below for eligibility.

The Together We Can Mentorship program introduces The Black link up series. The series is intended to assist youth explore career choices, learn about their rights as an employee when they are hired for a position,entrepreneurship, and the importance of black representation within teaching faculties. Alongside the workshops, there will be discussions on multiple topics facilitated by our coordinators to engage youth, as well as a arts performance and of course FOOD! The goal of this series is to create spaces for black youth to be themselves while being among their peers and having the guidance of our TWC mentors.

Hello Everyone This weekend will be our 3rd annual SOMFEST!!! We started in 2017 with a half day festival, last year was a full day and now we have a whole week...end of events! Friday 5:30 PM -9:30 PM Somali Youth Support Project and Carletons Somali Students Association present: FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE a 17+ event. Saturday 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM Somali Cultural Festival (SOMFEST) Cultural Showcase, Food, Fun for Kids + concert starting at 6:00 PM ft 3K and Hanad Bandz and Prenze Sunday 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM Networking Brunch hosted by Ottawa Somali Network in partnership with Carletons Somali Students Association After a long weekend come connect and mingle with Somali professionals over brunch. We have something for everyone so dont miss out on this jam packed weekend!!!
