This Saturday (August 29) is the first of three Record Store Day Drops! RSD, as we know it; a social day with live music, hanging out in our local shops, etc. is replaced for now with a three month roll out of the official 2020 list of releases. RSD Canada says the focus of these RSD Drop dates is on bringing revenue to the stores, as well as to the artists, labels, distribution and every other business behind the scenes making record stores work. As always, we wouldn’t be here without your amazing support! ~ Come check out the selection of titles we received! ~ Open 10-5! See you then!

Local artist @bbliesen.art is auctioning off a framed original charcoal drawing of Bob Marley with all proceeds going to Black Luck Collective! This beautiful piece is currently hanging in the shop if you’d like to come see it in person.

Happy Sunday everyone! This week we’ll be ‘open for business’ starting Tuesday! While we are excited to start seeing your faces again, we are also aware that record shopping is very hands on, and sanitizing records is not a practical endeavour. Our initial protocols will be wiping down all other common surfaces in the shop often, offering gloves if you’d like them to browse, grabbing what you want for you (if you have something in mind), and limiting in store shoppers to thre...e people at a time. . We see this as a trial week; we want to see what works and plan to keep shifting things over the coming weeks. Our priority is still what’s safest for you, our amazing community and our (growing) family . So for this week we will be in the shop Tuesday through Saturday from 11am-3pm. These hours will serve as extended curbside pick up for those of you who still prefer to shop online, but the door is open to those of you who are ready to come back in the shop. For this week we are still offering free local delivery. As always, we offer shipping to our out of town supporters. . We’re excited to show you all the work we’ve done on the shop! Looking forward to seeing you! @ Something Else Records See more

The past couple months, we’ve been focused on family, building and operating our webstore, and ensuring that we can continue to bring in an array of new release vinyl. As we prepare to re-open our physical store, we’ll be giving some long overdue time and energy into getting more vintage vinyl out for sale! Stay tuned for an ‘Incoming Used’ section on our website As for this week’s hours, we’ll be at the store for order pick-ups on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 11-3. For people who need to make purchases in person, we will be allowing people in one at a time to use tap. But we strongly encourage and ask everyone to continue using our website to make purchases and curbside pick-up orders, for the time being. Thanks and take care

We have decided to take this week to finish up some projects we are working on in the shop, and figure out what things will look like in the coming weeks. So for this week, we will continue with Thursday and Saturday curbside pick-ups from 11-3, as well as weekly local delivery and out of town shipping. Next week will likely look like extended curbside pick-up hours, continued local delivery and shipping, and potentially drop-in hours or by appointment in store shopping. Let ...us know what you would like to see! What are your plans for record shopping in the coming weeks? Are you happy to keep ordering online and picking up or having items delivered, or would you prefer to come into the shop again? Your feedback will help us to figure out this first stage of reopening. Let us know your thoughts! And thanks for sticking with us through all this :) @ Something Else Records See more

We’ve been doing some light renovations, giving the store a new look and layout. Here’s just a sneak peak! Those of you who recognize the space in the pic, notice a change? Really looking forward to safely reopening and seeing you all again!
