First Express Entry draw of 2017 has taken place. ITAs were issued to candidates in the Express Entry pool with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 468 or above. This represents the first time the required minimum CRS score has dropped below 470 since April 20, 2016.

Rather than the January rush to submit applications by courier or mail, those wanting to bring their parents or grandparents to Canada will first need to fill out an online form to indicate their interest in sponsoring their loved one. IRCC will then randomly choose 10,000 individuals and those people will be invited to send in their complete application package. The online form will be available starting January 3 and sponsors will have 30 days to submit it.
