Doing some #selfcare and #activerecovery today with my #triggerpointtherapy balls for releasing #shouldertension. 1. Grab your @tp_therapy balls (or something similar) and a yoga block (if you have one). 2. Lay on your back and place the balls (one on either side of your spine) in the meaty section next to your shoulder blade. Return arms to your sides. Most people enjoy having this area massaged but it can be a little tense/tender. ... *we don't want the balls to be resting on bone* 3. If you need more, press your feet into the ground and lift your hips up. Slide your yoga block under your sacrum/hips (not the low back). It should be comfortable to hang out here and provide more pressure for the shoulders. 4. Still digging this? On an inhale, lift your arms up overhead (or as far as you can go without pain). On an exhale, return your arms back down to your side. You may choose to lay with arms extended over head or you may continue to move through this little flow. 5. To come out, bring your arms back down to your side, press your feet into the ground to remove the block (if you were using one), move the therapy balls out from underneath of you and gently hug knees into chest. So. Much. Gratitude. As I sit and enjoy my breakfast on my first day of holidays, I'm reminded of how much we all have to be grateful for. 2020 could be an easy year to grumble about, but it's so important to focus on the positive.
