Thank you to Marc and Luc Belanger of Belanger Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for their generous donation to support our accessible transportation here at Sonshine and keep our community rolling through the winter!
Thank you to The Merry Dairy for sending a spooky Halloween surprise to our homes with lots of treats!
We’re excited to announce that we’re partnering with Sonshine Families to create a new Orleans location as part of their fabulous community inclusion centre! Lessons will be available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting in late October. Spaces are very limited!
Sonshine is moving to our new location at 1-3735 St. Joseph Blvd. this week and will not have full access to our lines of communication. We will get back to any emails or phone calls next week. Look for our upcoming virtual tour of our new building on our website in the coming weeks.
Sonshine Community Ministries May 8, 2020 To All Sonshine Cove Campers, Staff and Families,... We have been monitoring the progress of COVID-19 and how it impacts on our Respite Program and Summer Camp at Sonshine Cove. We have carefully reviewed all possible options to operate under the current conditions. We have determined that we are unable to operate or even modify our current program in a way that would ensure all of our campers and staff could be protected from possible exposure to Covid 19. It is with regret that the Board of Directors has recommended we cancel all respite and camp programs until the end of August 2020. We had hoped things would improve and we would be able to run some of our summer camps. However, the risks remain too high and we have no choice to cancel our summer camp program for 2020. With the camp setting of communal living it would be impossible to keep everyone safe. We are committed to providing this valued camp and respite program as soon as it is safe to do so. As soon as a way clear can be seen it will immediately resume. We know how disappointing this is for our campers and their families but remain hopeful that when the Covid-19 situation improves we can plan additional week and weekend dates when we resume. Your input and suggestions are welcomed. Len Goddard Executive Director Sonshine Community Ministries 613-834-8187 ext 222 [email protected] www.sonshinefamilies.ca
