We are grateful that those writing our reopening plans are doing so thoughtfully and carefully. A #SafeSeptember can be ensured through well thought out legislation and its implementation by licensed childcare centres. We wrote a blog post on July 30th about the lack of agency Canada’s rent assistance program provides small businesses in getting financial help. We also explained that those whose landlords allowed them to participate in the program have seen no funds yet, leaving them struggling with debt as much as those whose landlords opted out of the CECRA program. When our childcare centres open in September, the mandated safety requirements will include: - All staff wearing PPE at at times - Frequent and thorough cleaning of the facilities - Screening children and staff for symptoms each morning - Teaching and upholding proper hand hygiene... - Maintaining attendance records for contact tracing, and - Establishing case management protocols We feel confident that we can protect our families and communities in the fall, and we hope that students will return in the fall to learn, and to support our schools. #SaveOurSpacesON
