Our province is grieving, those who have lost a loved one are experiencing a horror I am unable to comprehend. I have no words, just long stares and big hugs. What I do know is as I just bathed my children it crossed my mind that maybe I should have locked the door. I took a deep breath and continued to play in the tub with my beautiful children with a heightened awareness. Aware of the fear that is blanketing and being absorbed from this event. Aware that I want to help.... Aware of my surroundings, and aware of the precious gift that life is. So I focus on something tangible when I don’t feel my feet on the ground despite the fact that I have been on them since 6am. I splash the water, I wash my babies with care. I prepare a hearty meal of bright and colourful root vegetables for my family. That’s all I can do to help right now, is to be thankful. Realize this beautiful gift I am living, find joy in the mundane and nourish the hell out of the people that occupy it. See more

I have been quiet on here lately, we have been finding our groove here at home. I have been taking time to be creative and spending lots of time on my mat to keep the crazies away. How are you? What have you been up to? I saw this last night and wanted to share it with you all. I miss you all dearly and can't wait until we can move together again xx

Just trying to move through my days consciously, now more then ever. Seeing the good in the bad. It feels sad and weird to wave at parents and grandparents through the window while you hold your sobbing child because she doesn’t understand. Simultaneously it had been restorative to have this quiet and slow time with Nathan, Lena and Lawrence. I don’t have answers. All I can do is experience from this brain and body. Pushing my fears into awareness. Being the foundation in the home and for each other Nathan and I have been taking shifts in the forest here. Look after yourself the best you can. Sending love to you all

Feeling the pull to share simple things more. Let us all be more like the trees. A poem called forest I wrote while walking through it Forest It’s amazing how she falls, a dead tree in the woods. Does anybody hear her? Did she rest on others limbs, come back and make new life?... Did she fall silently, the thud on the ground vibrating through the mantle for all of us to feel? Dead she decomposes giving life to insects, amphibians and the soil below. All the way to her heart. Alive she rises spreading her seed, her wisdom giving life to forests. The family tree hosting nests and burrows. She provides nourishment to her world. When the north-east wind comes she locks limbs with others. Branches like hands reaching out in the blast. Underneath roots grow stronger, interconnecting, communicating. What one needs the other will spare. The heroine, before others she changes with the season. Congregations look up to her lead, accepting and expecting their own change will follow. Ash, Hemlock, Maple, Cedar, Oak, Pine, Birch, Spruce. They all grow together. Our Forest, Our Body. A dwelling so beautiful we shouldn’t possibly try to see it any other way. - Ashley Bent... a mind flood while walking in the woods. See more

Good morning I am checking in to say that there will be no yoga tonight or next week (March break) classes will resume March 26th. Lawrence has been really sick with a bacterial infection and I am still feeling the effects of my concussion. We are both on the mend and I am so appreciative that we have healthy bodies to begin with and the means and supports to heal xx
