Breaking trails today... Snowshoes on, dogs running and playing and checking the animal tracks in the snow. I’m the mom taxi this week so in between running the roads, rearranging my schedule to accommodate family responsibilities and trying to get some strategic business work done, I took a break to get a different perspective-some alone time in my head and get my body moving. Time to decompress in the sprit of my own wellness. ... I was reminded during the holidays that balance is extremely important. I know better but sometimes my old habits of get’er done at all costs take over and I bear the brunt of that. I knew I was tired and feeling a bit burnt out and my body told me so on December 26th when I awoke with a bad case of vertigo. For those who have experienced vertigo, you know what I mean. The room spins uncontrollably, you feel nauseous and nothing you do seems to help. Look up, room spins. Look down, room spins. Trying milking cows. Thank goodness for those long tails that keep me from staggering and falling down. At the advice of many, I did a YouTube search and found the Epley Maneuver. I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I started. Step 1 and 2 wasn’t bad. Step 3 sent me into the biggest spin of my life holding onto the bed for dear life and praying the spin would stop. It did - eventually but my stomach was churning with every move I made. I gave into the meds of the world and Gravol was my drug of choice. Down the hatchet and hoping it would find its final destination (and stay there). It took about 30 minutes to kick in and within a day or two I was feeling much better. The Epley Maneuver had done its job even though I could not complete all the steps. That’s a ride I don’t want to take anytime soon. A dear friend looked up the meaning of vertigo as a sign/symbol and reminded me of the need for balance. Immediately, I knew she was right so I’m practicing some balance of life this week as things start to ramp up and we find ourselves in orange phase again. Luckily, my business activities can still resume in orange and the great outdoors is a great place to be. Practice balance everyone! This is one option when you visit Soul on Fire... the video was taken yesterday during the height of the snow storm. Turn on the volume and you can listen to the silence and calm in the midst of the storm (other than my commentary). Snowshoes will be adorned today to make the trail and prepare for visitors so the path will be well laid out and marked just for you. One step at a time. Now that Christmas is over, the busyness of life will start to take over and the quiet soli...tude you found may quickly disappear with worldly demands. Is that what you want or need? What do you do when your assistant lays down on the job? I have been on the phone with clients this morning and she tried to get my attention initially. However, current state says rest and be patient and maybe Mommy will take me for a walk later. Aren’t they cute when they are sleeping?... Sorry. I digress. Now I need to get back to work. Good morning everyone and happy January 1st! My much needed break is now coming to an end and I so needed some downtime to be with my family, appreciate the holidays, to sleep in past 6AM and just be in the moment. Yes, I had some business things on my brain but it was a much calmer view to really plan out the next steps of finishing up Soul on Fire's new building so I can bring to life the service offerings, the finishing of the inside for your ultimate relaxation and comfort, and the Open House event that will be happening in the next few weeks (more to be announced soon). My wish is that you also were able to enjoy some downtime and that I will see you very soon. Progress pics will be posted in the days and weeks ahead but the picture below will give you some idea on where SOF is headed - just for you!

Soul on Fire has broken some new ground! Again! In 2015, Soul on Fire was born and my vision was always to create a wellness center where my horses supported clients - a sanctuary where you can relax and restore your soul away from the hustle and bustle of life demands, a place to reconnect to your soul with no judgement or false pretences but rather acceptance and compassion. The sanctuary will be called soul’s nest where you will be welcomed with open arms (with social ...distancing in mind, of course), a warm fireplace, and off-grid living amenities. This place is too beautiful to mark it up with power lines so we are doing this differently. For those who have been here, would you expect anything different? More info will be posted in the days and weeks ahead as new packages will be offered in this facility. Might make a great Christmas gift for someone? Gift certificates are available.

My herd awaits your visit. The $99 Foot Refexology and Indian Head Massage special ends Saturday night. I’m booking into the week of November 23rd and honouring the price as long as the booking is scheduled before end of day Saturday. Take some time for you in the beautiful outdoors surrounded by nature and horses.

Soul on Fire has a captivating view this morning as the sun is rising above the trees and pasture. It’s warmth and invitation is so welcoming especially for late November. Not a breeze either. And what else do I see? Is there a pile of lumber? What could Soul on Fire possibly be up to? What do you think? Take a guess.

Three more days until our first meeting. We may be in orange phase but I’m still able to hold this workshop for you through the practice of wearing masks and safe social distancing. December can be such a difficult time when you have lost a loved one which Is why the dates were chosen as they are for this program. My father loved Christmas and when we he passed, Christmas took on a new meaning. One where we eventually created new rituals while honouring the old ones. Are yo...u in a situation like this and how will you handle it? We will learn how to create new rituals in our 4th week. Ones that honour your loved one in a meaningful way.
