Here's what happens when someone puts alkaline batteries into a wireless handheld microphone, and then drops the mic into the charger.. the batteries literally explode within the mic capsule, seizing up and destroying the microphone. Unfortunately, this is not warranty, and has to be billed out as a replacement unit, as this one can't be saved.
Our latest install- Kamloops Sandman arena! https://www.soundsolutionscanada.com//kamloops-sandman-ar/
Weve been tweeted out by Kamloops! https://twitter.com/putsky88?lang=en

We are at the Cowichan pool installing a new sound system.. Progress Progress!!
From a difficult to use system to a touch screen that controls everything- the Merritt arena has just been upgraded by us and the staff of the arena, that installed all of the speakers!
5 boxes of goodness in the door today. 3 QSC Core 110f, 3 touch screens, and two QSC CXD 4.3 and 4.5Q networked power amps. These are for Kamloops and Merritt, with one for the Nanaimo arenas. One more to follow for that job! Lots of work ahead!
We are doing a record number of installations in 2019. Recent completions are: -Royal Columbian Hospital -Peace Arch Hospital -Cloverdale Rec Centre... Upcoming are: -Langley Hospital -Kamloops Hillside Stadium -Merritt arena -Nanaimo Beban Park arenas
Ready to rock the BCRPA trade show in Whistler!
Getting close to finishing Royal Columbian Hospital, were starting Peace Arch this week. Lots of amps, about 30,000 feet of wiring per location, and a QSC Core 110f digital signal processor.
Were already gearing up for our three trade shows that we do. This year they are all in May, the RFABC, BCRPA and EFMA. We just ordered 300 coffee mugs to be given away, so if youre attending any of them, stop by our booth!
The new year is starting off with a bang! 800 speakers, 2 QSC systems, and 10 amplifier. New paging systems at two local hospitals. Well be busy until March!
Our latest install is complete, at the Nelson Arena. Were in the middle of completing a bunch more jobs before the end of the year, so many more articles will be on the website in the next couple of months. Were always looking to hire qualified techs and installers as well! https://www.soundsolutionscanada.com//nelson-arena-sound-/
New article up on the website regarding the Saanich pool we did last month. One of our top 5 installations since we started back in 1988! https://www.soundsolutionscanada.com//saanich-pool-sound-/
Progress! All the old speakers and wiring are down, the new ones go up today!
Just a few feet of old wiring that we pulled out of the Saanich pool, currently being rebuilt!
The new speakers are up in Saanich, and ROCK!
Labour day indeed! Hard at work putting a new sound system into the Saanich Community center. The middle picture is the back of the rack as we found it, were cleaning up a lot of the rack with a proper wire tray.
A sobering thought whenever we see amplifier racks full of dust..
Im proud to announce that Sound Solutions was just awarded the contract to install a new sound system at the Saanich Commonwealth Games Pool. Installation commences in August!
Upcoming installations: -Squamish elementary and secondary schools -Mission Recreation Centre -Renfrew Community Centre -lots more jobs quoted and pending!
Our latest install: New sound system at the Point Grey Golf Course. They can control all 10 zones of audio via a touch screen in the office, or via their Iphones or tablets. New speakers throughout, repairing and overhauling a system that was installed by others last year. Super easy to use, they love it!
Off to the EFMA trade show in Penticton this morning, taking place tomorrow and Thursday!Off to the EFMA trade show in Penticton this morning, taking place tomorrow and Thursday!
The tractor is high today. The basic sound system at the Point Grey golf course is now up and running. Tomorrow we continue to finish off more zones!
Other recent installs include: -Grand Forks Pool -St Marys Church in Langley -St Andrews Church in Langley... Off to the RFABC trade show on Tuesday, then to the BCRPA trade show at the Bayshore Hotel in Vancouver!
Another rack being built! This one is for the Point Grey golf course, to replace the sound system that we put in in 1988 (one of our first jobs), and upgraded by others more recently. That recent upgrade isnt doing what the clubhouse needs it to do, so we are reusing the Bose amplifier in this rack, along with some of the newer speakers. The rack, consisting of an Ikea type shelf is being replaced with this metal wall rack, and a QSC digital signal processor and touch screen is going in as well.
We are about to head out of town to install the new sound system at the Grand Forks Aquatic Centre. Shown here are the touch screens displayed on the QSC TSC-7, and will also be controllable via the Ipad interface. The current sound system consists of 4 tiny Bose speakers powered off one amplifier. The new system will have larger Community weather-resistant speakers, with a 4 channel amp! More pix to follow once we are on site!
Just a notice regarding wireless mics: This past fall, a bunch of frequencies were auctioned off to cellular companies for use. This affected some of the wireless mic frequencies of all makes and models, and in the US, people are having to buy some new wireless mic systems as a result. Here in Canada, the frequencies are not affected, however manufacturers are discontinuing some models, or at least are shifting the frequencies. One of the wireless mic systems affected as a ...result is the Audio Technica 2000, which we sell a lot of. We have been informed that a bunch of the transmitters are now being discontinued, but have been made aware of a special of beltpacks that are being cleared out. The price of a whole beltpack system, receiver and transmitter, is $500, but we can get the beltpacks only at $275 for a limited time. If you have an aerobics system that uses a beltpack, its a great time to purchase a spare, as these do fail on a regular basis due to the workout they are given on a daily basis. Give us a shout! Kelly OBryans is open in New Westminster! Formerly the Keg Restaurant, this 100+ year old building was gutted, and Sound Solutions put in 11 HD televisions along with a Xilica, Community and QSC sound system.
We are back from Los Angeles after a couple of days of training at QSC headquarters. The last picture is from their theater lab, as QSC supplies many commercial movie theaters with the main, surround and Dolby Atmos speakers and amps. The demo was spectacular!
Not every installation we do is on a grand scale of 10s of thousands of dollars! We recently did an upgrade at the Ucluelet Community Centre that we installed in August, by adding two choir mics on the stage, along with modifying the touch screens to add the choir mic volume control. We also put in a budget system at the Fleetwood Rec Centre in Surrey, consisting of a small rack with a wireless mic, CD player with Bluetooth, and two Community speakers to fill the room. Details are at: http://www.soundsolutionscanada.com/installations/
New website articles are up for Creston and the Surrey Rec Centre. Still to come are the Uclulet Community Centre. Look under installations, or look at the second installation carousel banner at the bottom of the home page at www.soundsolutionscanada.com!
Were at the Ripple Effects trade show at the Bayshore. Lots of familiar faces, current and future clientS. As usual, we are handing out Sound Solutions mugs like crazy!
We are back in town after many days of out of town work! Completed installs include the Ucluelet Community Centre, the Creston Rec Centre (completed yesterday), and the Surrey Leisure Centre. Still to complete are the Fleetwood Rec Centre, Kelly OBryans restaurant in New Westminster, and a return trip to Ucluelet to install more equipment. Check www.soundsolutionscanada.com for updates and articles on these recent installations. We will be at the Ripple Effects aquatic trade show all day Monday down at the Westin Bayshore. Come and see us for a free Sound Solutions coffee mug and bag!
Spending the weekend wiring up the rack for the Creston Rec Centre.
Spending the weekend wiring up the rack for the Creston Rec Centre!
The sound system for Ucluelet is coming together nicely. Ipad wireless control, and a touch screen keeps things simple!
