It’s a busy day here at the clinic! Today is Spay day all across Manitoba. Every year clinics around the province participate in spaying and neutering cats & dogs organized by the Manitoba Veterinarian Medical Association! This day is amazing for spreading awareness about the importance of fixing your animals. Not only does it help with the over population problem, but there are several medical benefits as well. Today we castrated 5 cats and 1 dogs as well as spayed 4 cats! Pictured is Dr. Johnson & our technician Mandy performing a cat spay! Way to go team!

In honour of RVT month, we will be posting little post about our Vet Techs! A vet clinic can not function without our vet technicians. Very often you don’t see ...them when visiting the clinic, but they keep the clinic running! First up is Jen! Also commonly known as ‘JC’ by her co-workers. She has been a technician for 7 years and has been at GVAC the whole time. She has a passion for both small and large animal but loves to spend her time doing rehabilitation. Since the addition of laser therapy and the underwater treadmill, Jen has been spending her time learning and helping with that! She shares her home with 1 dog named Sonic, 2 cats, 1 horse, 1 donkey, a bunch of chickens, and 2 ducks! She is an important member of our team & we are happy she has been with us for so long!
