Turnip the Beet would like to give a "huge" shout out to the great musicians and audience that attended our Friday Music Jam at the Malahat Legion. We have been hosting this jam for coming on three years now to promote music in the South Cowichan. It is so good to see it paying off in more ways than one. Time to shake off those winter bluesthe first South Cowichan Music Jam of 2020 is coming up this Friday, Yay! It is also Steak Night at the Legion so if you want to enjoy a great meal before the music be sure to call ahead and book your dinner and be there by 6pm (250) 743-4621. Music starts at 7:00 so bring your instruments and your dancing shoes and join in the fun! No cover, donations to the House Band gratefully accepted

UPDATE! CANCELLED DUE TO SNOWED IN MUSICIANS. But it's still steak nighty at the legion :-) This Friday is the first jam of 2020! It is also steak night at the Legion so call ahead to book your meal 250 743-4621. Arrive by 6 for the meal or come for the music at 7. Hope to see lots of jammers and dancers out for some fun!

Great jam last night! Starting off with the house band, Keith Washington, Bryon Thompson, Freda Eckstein, Donny MacGillivray and Mike Trepanier plus Brent Hutchinson. What a treat! Following that we had Jolie, Nina & Rick with some fantastic Christmas songs. Then we had Peter Findlay with some classic country tunes. Some vocal talents from Ken, Allie and Jan. A fantastic set with the originals of Hugh Smith. Others in the house jamming along were Tom Horsefall, Nick Jarvie and 'Trombone Brad'. What a fabulous way to start the Christmas Holiday...oh and the steak dinner was delish!
