In the cold winter months, people often find more time for their hobbies. However, some of these hobbies are visually demanding, requiring good focus at one point for a long period of time. Did you know we can make glasses specifically for those tasks? Ask us about task-specific glasses for reading, computer work, fine work (such as needlepoint), piano/sheet music, huntingwe’d love to help you enjoy those hobbies without blur or eyestrain!

Avoid wiping your lenses with a dry cloth (such as your t-shirt, paper towel, or facial tissues) while they are dry. These items are too rough and may wear away the lens coatings or scratch your lenses. The best way to clean your lenses is with lens spray and a dry lens cloth. (If they are very dirty a small amount of mild dish soap and water will help get them clean.)

Fogged up lenses? Heat and moisture from your breath can cause your lenses to fog. We have a wide variety of anti-fog clothes, sprays, and wipes to help you keep fogging to a minimum. (It is also helpful to ensure your mask or scarf is fitting snugly at the top- this will prevent warm air from escaping upwards, towards your lenses.)

Proper care and cleaning of your lenses will keep your lens coatings performing as they should. When cleaning glasses and lenses it best to use lens spray and a clean lens cloth. Avoid alcohol-based cleaners (as well as disinfectant wipes), as they may strip coatings and ruin your lenses. We are currently looking for two (2) full-time contact lens and dispensing technicians to help ensure excellent patient care as part of our eyecare team. These positions are both 18-month term positions with the possibility of becoming permanent positions. Duties include assisting patients with contact lens training, providing patients information regarding contact lenses, maintaining contact lens inventor...y, assisting patients with frame and lens section, glasses adjustments and pickups, and product ordering. Some administrative skills are also needed, as duties will include data entry, taking payments, booking appointments, answering phone calls, and submitting insurance claims electronically. You will work closely with our Optometrists and Licensed Opticians to provide patient care. You must be reliable and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. You also must be able to learn new tasks and balance responsibilities. No experience is necessary but any previous contact lens or dispensing training would be considered an asset. The willingness to learn new skills is essential!
