Phew! Glad we caught this before it was over!! Does anyone have any cute piggies to share?
Did you know? A big part of the reason Veterinarians have vaccines and deworming protocols in place is to protect YOU! Being in close proximity to animals increases the risk of exposure to zoonotic diseases - diseases that can transfer from animals to humans. Rabies is probably the one that is most widely known, but there are many others!... Happy World Zoonosis Day! Visit the link to learn more: https://www.canadianveterinarians.net//zoonoses-shared-dis
Summer is the season when immature blacklegged ticks are very active! Did you know that even with a regular tick checks, they can be very hard to see (as small as a poppy seed)? That is why it is important to keep your pet protected against ticks, even as the temperatures climb. Contact your veterinary team for more information. #tickseasoncanbeeveryseason #yourvetknowsticks https://ticktalkcanada.com/seasonality-of-ticks/
Does your cat have a problem?

To our Valued Clients, We are reaching out to provide you with an update around our plans for the near future. At this time, we are still waiting to receive specific guidelines from the Provincial Health Officer and our regulatory body before a date for re-opening can firmly be established. Rest assured we will let you know as soon as we are able to let you and your pets back into the clinic. We continue to take all precautions with each other by wearing masks and gloves in t...he hospital, using easily disinfected leashes to transfer your pets and constantly cleaning and disinfecting the work area. Our staff is also being very vigilant with social distancing outside the workplace so we can all remain safe. Until then, to ensure the health and safety of our staff and clients, hospital access will continue to only be allowed to pets, with special drop-off protocols, while owners remain in their vehicles. Upon arrival for a scheduled appointment, or to pick up food or medication please call our direct line at 604-538-7874 and a staff member will assist you. Alternatively, we do have an online web store that offers a delivery or pick up option for food and non-prescription items. https://www.myvetstore.ca/. We will maintain our regular hours Monday Saturday, but continue to remain closed on Sundays so our staff has much needed time to rest and recharge, allowing us to continue to provide the quality of care you and your pet deserve. For emergencies, outside of our hours, please call the Animal Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley at 604-514-1711. We appreciate your patience during this time, as there are higher call volumes and longer processing waits, while we take the time to care for your pet and communicate with you via telephone. We want to thank you for your understanding as we do our best to continually adapt to these necessary changes. We will continue to keep you up to date so that you can make the best decisions for your pet’s health care. Thank you for your continued trust and confidence in our clinic and our team. We truly value and care about you and your pets, and look forward to welcoming you back soon. Sincerely, Dr. Kortschak, Dr. Meagher, Dr. Olsson and all the staff of SSVH
