To all our clients at South Point Pet Hospital, We wanted to reach out and share the precautions and care that we are taking to keep you, our team and your pets safe during the current COVID-19 situation. Please know that we have always and will continue to disinfect high-traffic areas on a regular basis. This includes our waiting rooms, door handles, exam rooms, reception desk, and washrooms.... What you can do to help: If you are feeling unwell, please call us and let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate you. A technician will come and meet you at your vehicle and gather the necessary information, then bring your pet in to see the doctor. From there, the doctor can call you and go over the treatment plan. We can then process payment over the phone with any major credit card. Please ensure to use hand sanitizer and/or wash your hands before and after entering our clinic. If you develop symptoms of the COVID-19 virus after you have visited our clinic, please call and let us know so that we may take the necessary steps. Symptoms include fever, coughing & shortness of breath. If you have traveled outside of Canada within the last 14 days or may have come into contact with a person considered likely or confirmed case of COVID-19, please reschedule your appointment. If you want to learn more, here are some websites that may help: Health Canada: https://www.canada.ca//d/coronavirus-disease-covid-19.html World Health Organization Rolling Updates: https://www.who.int//novel-coronavir/events-as-they-happen As the COVID-19 situation is changing rapidly, we will provide relevant updates as they occur. It's tick season! Technically, ticks are not insects. They are arachnids and are related to spiders and mites. They are parasites that attach themselves to animals and people. Once attached to a host, ticks feed voraciously. You can help protect your pets by using flea and tick control. We have a special on flea and tick control until the end of April. The map below shows the hot spots for ticks in the Vancouver area.
