I received a call from a friend, who was commenting on the fact that our bubbles are getting smaller, and that that they were hearing more often that people are... "cancelling Christmas." They asked me what I'd say, if I were told that I had to cancel Christmas this year. What I said was, "It is impossible to cancel Christmas. Christmas is celebrated each time a disciple of Jesus lives love. Christmas isn't an event. Christmas *is*." Christmas is. (Thanks for the cool graphic, Fey!)

Calling all United Church of Canada musicians to help us form a virtual choir! We're looking for 81 people to contribute their voices to an arrangement of "Peace for the Children", More Voices #149, by Doreen Lankshear-Smith, a Music United member from Thunder Bay, ON. Do you know of someone who represents the United Church of Canada in one of its many expressions? Invite them to be a part of this project. Once completed, this video will be available for use by our members in congregations across the country.

Two weeks ago this Sunday after a tragic act of arsen. Saugeen Wesley United Church built in 1891 overlooking the Saugeen River at Saugeen First Nations. Friday... night i heard two Canadian musicians on radio, baritone saxophonist Colin Stetson and violinist Sarah Neufeld performing "Never Were The Way She Was". Colin also sings and circular breaths through his baritone sax while playing, creating a throat-singing effect and mysterious haunting, drone sounds.
