As many people will be out ice fishing over the next couple weeks we wanted to put up an ice guideline again. Remember ice thickness can vary a lot in a couple metres and lake to lake. Please do not assume that one test hole tells the whole story. Happy Holidays and stay safe. Please share this.

Sandra Riches, executive director of the non-profit BC AdventureSmart, which is funded by the B.C. Search and Rescue Association, says it is critical people are prepared before they play. This, she said, includes making sure you are physically and mentally fit for the activity you are doing, and sharing a safety plan with someone who isn't heading into the hills with you.
