Galatians 3:10-14 // Faith in Jesus is all we need to bring us into right standing with God. Nothing else works. Jesus alone has freed us from the curse - the curse of sin and the curse of trying to be good enough for God.
Happy Family Day, everyone! We hope you have a great day spending time with your loved ones! #familyday

Proverbs 3:1-8 // 2020 was an incredibly challenging year for us. As we transition into 2021, we face another season of uncertainty. When we enter seasons of life like this we face a choice, do we trust God completely? God wants us to submit to him in obedience and trust him completely. This is how we will persevere, overcome, and move forward regardless of the circumstances we find ourselves in. Proverbs 3:1-8 provides us with some much needed wisdom that will spur us on and encourage us to build this deep trust in God as we navigate the uncertainty and challenges that face us in 2021. Let's build our trust in the Lord by growing in our relationship with him in 2021.

Thanks for worshipping with us online yesterday (www.southdelta.org/sermons). Our new sermon series will lead up to Christmas and follow the birth story of Jesus Christ as told in the Gospel of Matthew. Join us online next Sunday as we continue to explore the light of Jesus. Have a great week! #SDBCSundays
Check out our blog to read Pastor Paul's reflection on 2020. Using Psalm 23, Paul reminds us that while 2020 may have been a challenging year for many, we cannot lose sight of the fact that we WILL dwell in the house of the LORD forever (www.southdelta.org/our-blog). #SDBCBlog
Thanks for joining us online and in-person this past Sunday as we finished our series in Esther! The service is now online. We hope you can join us next Sunday online or in-person as we launch a new Christmas series in Matthew. Have a great week!
Esther 10:1-3 // In the final chapter of the Book of Esther, we find an epilogue to the story of Esther; giving us information about the political, historical, and social context of this real life story. Honour and vindication are themes tied to this final chapter, but there is also this sense of this not being the true end of the story. In the canonical context of Esther, the story continues circa five hundred years later as we are introduced to the ultimate hero of the bible storyJesus.
We are looking forward to having you join us online Sunday at 11AM to hear Pastor Jordan preach our first worship service of 2021! Link to our livestream can be found on our website (www.southdelta.org).
Matthew 1:1-17 // As Matthew begins his gospel account, he includes the genealogy of Jesus Christ. Even though this may seem like a boring list of ancient Hebrew names, Matthew is telling a compelling story with this genealogy--that God is faithful to accomplish all that he has promised throughout the Old Testament through the coming of Jesus. Jesus is the fulfillment of all of the promises made in the bible and this is the good news about the hopeful light that entered into a dark world that desperately needed a saviour.
