A little #feelgoodfriday with Mr. Tripp Tripp suffers from hip dysplasia and OA, and had an FCEM in 2017. Following this he started coming to SOAR where he receives acupuncture and laser and underwater therapy! Tripp recently underwent a successful GDV (bloat) surgery. This was him yesterday! This 9 year old GSD surprises and amazes us every day with his strength and resilience

Happy belated birthday Arlo!!! Arlo came to SOAR a few months ago with bilateral cruciate tears and hip dysplasia. A TTA was performed on Arlo’s right knee a few months later, and he is now coming to rehab every few weeks for conservative management of his other cruciate tear and his hips! Arlo is the definition of a gentle giant. She was there for me when I so badly needed her, volunteering her time every single Wednesday while working through her bioscience degree in Guelph. She drove from Guelph, rain or snow, to volunteer. Clearly I had no choice but to hire her. She has started her program to become a veterinary technician and so although you will see her less, she is st...ill part of the SOAR crew twice a week. She is and forever will be part of our second family no matter what amazing path her career takes her. Every Friday we want to highlight some of our success stories throughout the years Todays success story is Astor Astor came to see Emily here at SOAR after having a TPLO to correct a cruciate tear on his right hind leg. After about 2 months of rehab and at-home exercises with his diligent parents, Astor graduated from our rehab program. Below is an update from his owners Thank you for reaching out! We are well and so I Astor! Although I suspect his t...ail is tired from wagging so much now that my husband and I are home all the time haha. Astor is doing amazing! Our vet said his legs are both strong and nearly symmetrical - but that its normal that theyre not both exactly the same. He has strong stomach muscles and considering he was over weight until we adopted him is just proof that SOAR really did wonders for him. Shortly after his rehab finished he jumped up on my husband - something he hasnt done since June 2019 that he used to do every day. We were both overjoyed. Hes strong, full of energy that puts our 4 year old lab to shame. He loves walking up big hills and trotting on his walks. Happy birthday to our sweet girl Zaira who turned 11 yesterday! Zaira suffered an ACL tear almost 2 years ago and has has coming for rehab at SOAR ever since! Zaira is doing great after her injury! 2/2 Jasper came to us a month ago for rehab following a cruciate ligament tear. He was non-weight bearing on his left hind limb and there was a significant amount of instability in his knee. We recommended a brace to help stabilize the knee and allow him to walk more comfortably. Jasper has greatly improved since getting his brace! Not all of our feline patients love coming to see us. Chloe thinks we are ....OK....for a very short period of time lol. However we have learned that #1..Chloe will not turn down Churu treats, #2 if we let him stay in his carrier we can give him his treats through the little window and he is happy to let me acupuncture and laser him.
