Today would have been our fourth anniversary for the Auburn Bay Stampede Breakfast. Although we are sad the Calgary Stampede is canceled due to COVID19 this year, we at South Family Dental feel incredibly grateful to live and work in such an awesome city and country. Today we are grateful and we remember those who were courageous and fought for our freedoms. We appreciate all veterans and those who currently serve and protect us. Pictured here is Earl Scott as he served as a bomber pilot in Canadian Air Force. Earl Scott's bomber was shot down and he was captured by the German's in WWII. He survived unbelievable odds as a prisoner of war in 13 different death camps for 3 years. On 3 separate times he was apart of what he called death m...arches and he was lined up for a firing squad twice. He was finally liberated at the end of the war while on a death match. As they marched it came over the radio that the war had ended and the German soldiers ran away leaving them to die. Earl returned to Canada and went on marry the love of his life Arlene Smith. He had 3 children, 17 grandchildren, and at last count 18 great grandchildren. Without Earl's brave determination to survive we would not have the incredibly gifted Dr. Scott or our awesome Office Manager Menah.
